HISTORY

After losing his father in 2000, Pat Notaro III was introduced to Surfers Healing, a nonprofit that enriches the lives of individuals with autism through surfing. Variety the Children's Charity honored his late father with the first “Surfers Healing Autism Pat Notaro Jr. Day” in Malibu, California. Notaro volunteered as a surf instructor and documented the events with his film camera, creating short documentaries to support the organization.

In 2012 the opportunity arose to create a new surf event experience based out of Hollister Ranch, California, one that was open to entire families and children of all disabilities. He left A Walk On Water (AWOW) in 2018 to focus on his family and career. The name “A Walk On Water” comes from a movie script his grandfather planned to produce before he passed in 1970.

Pat spent many a day catching waves with his father - etching in him the healing power of the ocean and the value of sharing surfing with loved ones. Flow Surf Academy (FSA) is getting back to the soul and authentic transformational properties surfing brings. Genuine life circumstances have piloted the journey. FLOW is all inclusive sharing waves with those that need it most!
